The hill country between Feilding and Taihape carries a huge number of breeding cows and ewes, filling the Feilding saleyards week after week. Good returns for Lamb ($8/kg+) and Beef ($6+) have boosted confidence and this is seen by the amount of new fencing underway and fertiliser making its way back into the budget.
